#26 Driscoll Otto & Amy Pedigo-Otto

It’s two for the price of one today! Our first ever joint episode features married couple Driscoll Otto (Lighting/Projections) and Amy Pedigo-Otto (Costumes.) The lovely couple spent a morning in their brand new backyard chatting with Cory about being married to another designer and balancing the freelance lifestyle with family, which will soon include a newborn baby. Driscoll tells us about designing ‘Game of Thrones: The Exibition’ and Amy talks about working in the TV world on shows such as ‘The Americans’ and ‘Louie.’ It’s a round-table in Brooklyn and you’re invited!

Driscoll Otto’s Lighting Design credits include: Under My Skin (Little Shubert), The Urban Dictionary Plays and The Netflix Plays (Ars Nova); The Realists (Here); The Steadfast (Slant Theater Project); Holy Crap! (La Mamma); Spring Groove (Dixon Place); Long Day’s Journey (York Shakespeare Company); Swing State, Groove Factory, My Mother’s Lesbian Jewish Wiccan Wedding, Twilight in Manchego, & Rainbow Around the Sun (New York Musical Theatre Festival); Shoshana Bean: a Happening (Lincoln Center Jazz); Wit and Wisdom (Dance Theater Workshop); insecticide (Brooklyn Lyceum); I Have Loved Strangers (Ohio theatre/Williamstown Theatre Festival). Driscoll’s Opera work has been seen at Virginia Opera, NC Opera, Gotham Chamber Opera in NYC. Regional theatre lighting work includes productions at Dallas Theatre Center; Trinity Repertory Theatre; The Hangar Theater; Flatrock Playhouse; Reprise Theatre Company; Boise Contemporary Theatre; Houston Shakespeare Festival; Shakespeare Dallas; The Zach Scott Theater; Alpine Theatre Project; Utah Festival Opera; Plano Repertory Theatre and Northern Stage. In addition, Driscoll designed the lights for Rock of Ages for Norwegian Cruise line’s ship “The Breakaway” and Legally Blonde for their new ship “The Getaway” Projection Design work includes Baden Baden 1927 (Gotham Chamber Opera) Swing State (New York Musical Theatre Festival); Hair (Alpine Theatre Project); Evita (Associate Projections), Broadway/U.S. Tour; Elf The Musical (Associate Projections) Broadway. Driscoll holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from NYU Tisch School of the Arts

Amy’s Pedigo-Otto’s Costumes Designs have been seen at New York venues including Theater at St. Clements, Ars Nova, New York Musical Festival, Stella Adler Studios, St. John’s Chappell Players, Columbia Stages, Hudson Guild Project, APAP Dance Showcase, Estrogenius Dance Festival and 2nd Ave. Dance Co. Her regional work includes designs for Summer Repertory Theatre, Alpine Theatre Project, Curtain Call Theatre, Plano Repertory Theatre and New York Stage and Film. She also has taught design at Sarah Lawrence College and Santa Rosa Jr. College. She assisted Susan Hilferty on The Illusion (Signature Theatre), Gregory Gale on How to Succeed in Business… (Goodspeed Opera), Carrie Robbins on Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (National Tour), Claudia Stephens on Before Night Falls (Fort Worth Opera) and Andrea Lauer on Our Lady of 121st Street (5th Floor Theater). She also assisted on Louie and The Americans on the FX network and several independent features, shorts and commercials. She has shopped for Donna Langman Costumes and built angel wings for Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Amy is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with two BFAs in Drama (one for design, one for performance studies), and received her MFA in costume design from the NYU/Tisch School of the Arts Department of Design for Stage and Film where she was awarded the Oliver Smith Award for Excellence.
